Title of Position: School Counselor - George Southard Elementary School

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards and NY state assessments

• The ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool

• Uncompromising commitment to continuous improvement

• Broad experience with a variety of counseling/de escalation techniques

• Ability to differentiate instruction for accelerated and delayed learners

• Evidence of strong management skills with age appropriate experiences

• Flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to develop programs and collaborate with and support other staff

• Loyalty and evidence of being a team player

• Commitment to equity and inclusion of all members of the school community

Requirements: NY State certification in school counseling

Position Available: February 23, 2026

Salary/Stipend: $51,184 - $57,156 (dependent on graduate credits)
